Draft 3
Explanation
Strum
The genre of my magazine cover is acoustic/singer songwriter/ acoustic pop music. The target audience (TA) will be females from their late teens to their yearly twenties (16-25). They would dress in stereotypical casual clothes and just the normal clothes that a person of this age would wear. Their interests are music and friendships and would be found at concerts and socialising. The secondary audience would also be females maybe including some males of an older age range of (20-30).
The image I have chosen to use is a simple close up of the model. She has a neutral expression on her face with a slight smile, looking directly into the camera addressing the audience on a personal level. A guitar has been included in the image do indicated that the genre of the magazine.
I have used the colour of baby pink. This is stereotypically a girly colour so will relate to the TA. Baby pink has connotations of delicate, sweet and cute. It is the colour of universal love of oneself and of others. With uses and gratification theory this will identify with the audience and is also a talking point of social interaction.
The font choice is sans serif, which is an easy font to read. I have stuck to just three fonts so nothing gets over complicated and looks messy. Sans serif interrupts the flow of reading from a screen (though it creates a flow of the print). Sans serif is perfect for headlines and gives an informal feel. Sans serif implies cool and young which will appeal to the target audience.
The positioning of the images, text, subheading etc. had been chosen very careful. Her face has been kept with nothing touching her so the attention in draw in on her face. The magazine does vaguely follow the z-path of which we read a page.
